BT Broadband Upgrade Predicted to Slow Download Speeds for Some

A PC Pro report states that with this upgrade, some customers may in fact experience slow download speeds. While BT has not been able to confirm how many of its subscribers may be affected by this change, it claims that the service upgrade will actually benefit a majority of its customers.
A company spokesman said to PC Pro that the ADSL2+ is a modern system designed to provide faster and dependable broadband internet services to its customers. He added that the stability and security of an internet line is more important than speed in some applications. He however didn’t deny the fact that some lines that may not have had difficulties prior to ADSL2+ may have minor speed issues now.
However, BT said it will make sure that it addresses the speed problems and shifts troublesome connections to the more dependable ADSL2+. This will bring customers suffering from slow speeds to the same level as that of fixed-rate and IPStream Max products.
